Mendix Pioneers is a community of enthusiastic Mendix users who advocate for the platform. They receive perks like early product launches, exclusive access to events & trainings, and networking opportunities. The existing Pioneers brand felt distant from the core Mendix brand. So, I led a brand refresh, including a logo redesign and the creation of various print and digital promotional assets.
Pioneers is one of multiple community groups at Mendix that has its own distinct sub-brand, so I also had to consider how Pioneers would fit into this larger brand ecosystem. Retaining core Mendix brand components, like the frame and "mx" elements, enabled this sub-brand to feel connected to Mendix while also having its own flavor. This format would serve as a standard for sub-brand logos going forward, allowing each group to have a logo that feels both on brand and distinct to their focus area.
Mendix Pioneers are celebrated for their explorative, curious, trail-blazing nature. The brand's visual language reflects this, pulling inspiration from adventurous outdoor activities like camping and hiking. The image of a waving flag formed the basis of the logo and supplemental illustrations. Other assets created for the program allude to camp signage, patches and trail maps.
